Our Team

Steven D. Schwartz, Esq., is a founding partner of Mortgage Advantage and serves as the Company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. In 1996 he partnered with Joseph M. Willen, CEO of the Advantage Group, to create a mortgage company that would provide clients with the same professionalism and superior customer service that have been the core principles and building blocks for all of the Advantage Group affiliated companies. Mr. Schwartz is responsible for origination, investor relations, pricing strategies, product development, compliance, and quality assurance. He is a recognized leader in the mortgage industry who has accumulated a wealth of lending knowledge and has been successfully serving his clients for almost two decades.

Prior to establishing Mortgage Advantage he practiced real estate law at Mudge, Rose, Guthrie, Alexander & Ferdon in New York City from 1987 to 1995. This extensive legal experience has been instrumental in navigating his clients through today’s volatile and complex mortgage lending environment. Steven earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University with majors in accounting and finance followed by a Juris Doctor Degree from Boston University School of Law. Mr. Schwartz is a registered mortgage loan originator with the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida Banking Departments and also a long standing member of the New York and Massachusetts State Bars.
